This recipe has been passed down in my family for a few generations.

The funny thing about artichokes is that I have met people who have never even had one before!

This just baffled me because I have been eating them for as long as I can remember. However, I know there are a lot of different veggies that many people all around the world have never had before either.

Artichokes are great for you but some people don’t really know what to do to make them!

This recipe will show you a quick and easy way to add them to every meal.

I thought I’d give you all a few fun and interesting facts about this wonderful food.

Did you know that it is actually a flower? It’s actually an unbloomed flower, part of the sunflower family, from the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands!

Artichokes are so good for you!

Artichokes are ranked number one over all other vegetables when it comes to antioxidant levels, including anti-inflammatory antioxidants.

One large artichoke contains only 25 calories, no fat, 170 milligrams of potassium, and is a good source of vitamin C, folate, magnesium and dietary fiber. The trick is to keep dressings, sauces and dips low in fat, too.

3 simple ingredients!

My favorite part of the artichoke is the heart! Once you have peeled, dipped, and eaten all of the leaves, you get down to the heart. All you have to do is scrape off the fuzzy part with a spoon, and WALLAH, perfection – just dip it and enjoy!
